About Us

Fifty years ago Phil Jordan opened a small furniture store in Canning. He opened his 1200 square foot furniture business on April 29, 1969. In 1983, his eldest son Don joined him. The original store had grown to 6,000 square feet and it continues to offer quality furniture and appliances as well as unmatched service and reliability.

After 25 successful years, Phil opened a new location on May 11, 1994; Jordan’s Home Furnishings celebrated the Grand Opening of their fabulous new 20,000 square- foot store at 9108 Commercial Street, New Minas, which offers an even greater selection of furniture, appliances and accessories. At this time, Phil’s daughter Sherry joined the family business.

In February 2011, they expanded the existing New Minas store by 15,000 square feet, giving Jordan’s a showroom of 35,000 square feet.

In August 2018, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our new location at 42 Otter Lake Court, Bayers Lake Park in Halifax with a showroom of 15,000 sq. ft., showcasing the Canadel Dining store, Ekornes, IMG, Flexsteel, and Palliser.

In celebrating fifty years of success, our growth is due to dedication of our staff, commitment to delivering exceptional service and offering the highest quality brand names such as Canadel, Palliser, La-Z-Boy, Ekornes, IMG, England, Superstyle, Simmons, Tempurpedic, Durham, Flexsteel, Barrymore, Four Seasons, Ruff Sawn, Amisco and General Electric. This arrangement offers Jordan’s the buying power to compete with any of the large chain stores, and still be locally owned and operated.
